Is There a Vitamin Dietary Solution?-Vitamin Packs
The debate has always been whether there is a vitamin dietary solution from supplements to meet the body’s daily needs or whether you can get it from a balanced diet. Anti oxidants – Necessity or not?
Today more than ever there is much research on the subject of how supplements containing anti oxidants may effect the risk of cardiovascular disease. The anti oxidants supplements that have a great potential when it comes to improving your health are Vitamin C supplements as well as E and beta carotene. This research is not complete of the benefits supplements can do to that improvement.
And in reality just 30% of Americans take any of these anti oxidant supplements.
What I am going to try to examine here what anti oxidants are and what their importance really is.
There are two forms of anti oxidants – Vitamins and minerals which serve their purpose by chemicals within the cells from reacting with oxygen When this happens it is called oxidation. This is what could cause cell damage which in turn may cause cancer or heart disease. Eating a healthy diet of fresh produce will increase your levels of anti oxidants which can lessen those free radicals and help you become a heathier person. When these anti oxidants take hold they break the chain of those free radicals. Free radicals are highly unstable and they actually rob electrons from stable molecules and by doing so they make those molecules unstable as wellthus they become free radicals. This will continue on until this chain is broken.
Enter anti oxidants. That is there purpose, to break the chain and neutralize the free radicals as well as neutralizing themselves and they become oxidized as well.
Can you see the importance of maintaining a high level of anti oxidants? They will keep the free radicals from multiplying.
We all know what the average American diet consist of, and the lack of anti oxidants from the foods we eat are probably not adequate enough to maintain those high levels that we require. That is where I think the importance of anti oxidants comes in.
And while anti oxidant supplements can’t very well take the place of natural anti oxidants, they can however aid in increasing the level of anti oxidants in your body.
